Lloyd Scholar
About the position
he role of the Lloyd Scholar is to increase awareness of the Lloyd and its collections in the scholarly community through publications, presentations and teaching.
The position came about only in 2001, but was the outgrowth of an exchange in 1910 between Edward Kremers (of Kremers and Urdang History of Pharmacy ) and John Uri Lloyd. There was a suggestion for the establishment of a research professorship to conduct research along the lines of the history of pharmacy. Also in 1910, Lloyd wrote to James H. Beal, soon to be the general secretary of the American Pharmaceutical Association, discussing the potential relocation of the Library and commented that wherever the location, a research professorship in the history of pharmacy should be established.
