The Remington Honor Medal, named for eminent community pharmacist, manufacturer, and educator Joseph P. Remington (1847-1918), was established in 1918 to recognize distinguished service on behalf of American pharmacy. Reflections on Pharmacy by the Remington Medalists provides the addresses of the recipients, themselves a reflection of the significant issues and events over more than 100 years.

Pharmaceutical Education in the Queen City recounts the history of the first college of pharmacy west of the Alleghenies tale from its beginnings in 1850 to its status as a college of the University of Cincinnati and into the twenty-first century. Through the specific history of the school, its founders, and its dedicated faculty and students, the remarkable progress of pharmacy as a profession is reflected.
During the celebration to mark the acquisition of 3,000,000 volumes by the University of Cincinnati Libraries, the Health Sciences Library selected Pharmaceutical Education in the Queen City as the commemorative 3,000,0001 volume.
